The Prap Ho Monument Festival in Nong Khai is an annual event which is held every March of the year (a worshipping ceremony and a fair to celebrate the monument are held on 5th March). This is the festival for celebrating the bravery of Thais who resisted the Ho Chinese armies in the nineteenth century. The festival includes of folk dance, local music , plays, and a large fair selling local and Laos products.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Songkran Festival on 13th April of every year is a traditional celebration that welcomes in the Thai New Year. It is one of the important celebrations in Thailand that make it a great time to visit the country. This day in Nong Khai is started with religious ceremonies called Takbat (to consecrate food to monks), which usually take place early in the morning. At the afternoon, it’s time to parade Buddha images from every temples in Nong Khai around town for taking a bath. This is called Srong Nam Phra. 

 

Finally, The water fights which rage through the streets during which everybody, including tourists, are targets. Moreover, the town of Nong Khai celebrates the occasion with floral tributes, a beauty pageant, sporting contests and a special ceremony at the Friendship Bridge.
